A lot of junkies are still being sent to jail instead of being given treatment to overcome their addiction.

It's sad to see people who start out in politics with high ideals turn into power junkies. They'll do anything to stay in power, from rigging elections to arranging violence to intimidate their opponents.

Origin: Originally referred to working-class white people from the southeastern states of the USA. These people often worked outside as farmers or laborers, and they'd often have red necks as a result of sunburn.

If someone sees things through rose-colored glasses, they see things as being better than they really are.

Tina sees things through rose-colored glasses, so when things aren't going very well, she won't do anything to improve the situation.
